May 14, 2023The announcement of the New York Jets’ first game of the season was made on Thursday and it is quite an exciting one. Aaron Rodgers, the superstar quarterback, will lead the Jets against a formidable AFC East rival, the Buffalo Bills, in front of a nation-wide audience on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.” The game has a very emotional significance as it coincides with the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Additionally, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the reigning champions, who also recently qualified for Super Bowl LVII, the Kansas City Chiefs, in another “Monday Night Football” game scheduled for November 20th.
The game calendar for the upcoming season includes an impressive roster of 20 games with multiple matches scheduled for weeks 2, 3, and 14. The games are also subject to flex scheduling from Week 12 through Week 17.
The acquisition of Aaron Rodgers has put the Jets in the spotlight, making them a hot ticket and a part of a total of five prime-time games (not including Black Friday). Nonetheless, the game against the Bills is set to be an enormous challenge for the Jets. The Bills are currently the reigning AFC East champions and recorded five wins out of five in prime-time games last season.
This game features a marquee quarterback matchup, with Aaron Rodgers against Josh Allen. In their head-to-head series, they tied at 1-1, with the Bills beating Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers in the last season by 27-17. Rodgers completed only five touchdown passes and had four interceptions in his career against the Bills.
Despite the Jets’ streak of seven straight losses in prime time, their home game win last season against the Bills gave fans a reason for hope. The team’s recent matches had been very close and it was a significant feat to beat their long-time rivals.
The Jets are also experiencing another first: playing in the NFL’s first-ever Black Friday game on November 24th against Miami Dolphins, with kickoff scheduled at 3 p.m. ET. Overall, this season is shaping up to be quite competitive and exciting with the return of full capacity in stadiums.
