New York Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh radiated confidence when he recently spoke to reporters about his team’s chances of winning a championship this year. Although every NFL team pledges to win the Super Bowl, Saleh believes that only six-to-eight teams have a realistic chance to do it, and the Jets are one of them.
In fact, NFL writer Eric Edholm’s recent assessment of the “NFL’s top 10 most complete teams for 2023 season” supports Saleh’s opinion. Edholm ranked Gang Green at No. 8 overall, one of the few teams that meet his criteria of having the most talent, best depth, and fewer question marks. Among the AFC East division, the Jets and the Buffalo Bills are the only teams on this list.

The Jets have focused on addressing their most significant concern, the quarterback position, this offseason by trading for future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Rodgers. The team is feeling optimistic and believes they are only a quarterback away from being contenders.
Additionally, Sports Illustrated’s projections for 2023 have been favorable for the Jets, with Matthew Verderame predicting an 11-win season, and the team ranking No. 2 among those that showed the most improvement. Though the team did not make the playoffs last year, these rankings and analyses suggest a bright future for Gang Green.
