April 25, 2023According to new reports by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets are expected to finalize a deal this week for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Making the move from Green Bay to New York, a deal that both teams believe will get done. “>This comes ahead of the NFL draft, with the two teams looking towards the second round.

Rapoport notes that the deal is expected to include at least one of the Jets’ second-round picks. Either the 42nd or 43rd overall pick in the draft, which begins on Friday following the completion of the first round on Thursday night. If the Packers want to make use of picks in this year’s draft, then a deal must be completed this week.
The two teams have had discussions after weeks of inactivity. However now both GMs Brian Gutekunst and Joe Douglas are in talks to finalize a trade. However, the Jets need to create cap space and finish Rodgers’ new deal before the trade can be made official.
Currently, the Packers hold 10 picks in the upcoming 2023 draft. This includes the 15th overall pick in the first round and the 45th overall pick in the second round.
